The Feedlot Performance Manager plays a key leadership role in driving performance, profitability, and client satisfaction within our feedlot performance business. This individual will oversee the operational and financial performance of feedyard client accounts, lead and manage a high-performing team, and ensure strong client relationships and business growth. The ideal candidate has extensive feedyard management experience, sharp business acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on helping clients achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership, Management & Accountability (LMA)
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals for team members.
- Hold team members accountable to results through ongoing feedback, coaching, and structured 1:1 conversations.
- Continuously develop the team by identifying strengths, providing training opportunities, and encouraging professional growth.
- Lead and facilitate regular team meetings to align on strategy, share knowledge, and solve problems collaboratively.
Feedlot Performance P&L Management
- Ensure target margins are consistently met.
- Oversee supplement inventory and ensure clients do not run out of supply.
- Analyze cost vs. revenue to optimize profitability.
- Manage supplement pricing and contracting.
- Oversee and manage projections and breakeven calculations.
Client Acquisition & Sales Process
- Schedule and conduct consults and feedyard walkthroughs.
- Leverage team expertise to build comprehensive proposals.
Client Experience Management
- Directly support larger, more complex client accounts.
- Coach team members to troubleshoot and resolve client challenges.
- Provide client support as needed and conduct annual reviews.
External Partner Relationships
- Build and maintain win-win relationships with external partners.
- Strategically manage external expert resources to maximize value to clients.
- Represent the company through professional networking and relationship building
Qualifications:
- Extensive feedyard management experience with a full understanding of cattle feeding operations.
- Experience managing multiple feedyards or large-scale operations.
- Proficient in running projections and calculating breakevens.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven business acumen and ability to analyze financials.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and identifying new revenue streams.

- Bachelor’s degree required master’s degree preferred.
