We’re looking for a driven and resourceful Ingredient Merchandiser to build long-term relationships with cattle feeders and add value through ingredient procurement and logistics. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify customer ingredient needs, including product type, volume, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and margin with customers to ensure mutual value.
- Negotiate purchase terms (volume, price, delivery) with ingredient suppliers.
- Source and secure freight carriers; negotiate competitive rates.
- Coordinate deliveries between clients and carriers, ensuring efficient execution.
- Track purchase and sales contracts; ensure fulfillment of all obligations.
- Accurately enter and manage load and logistics data in internal systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, or related field preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the livestock or feed industry preferred.
- Merchandising Experience: Not required—willing to train the right person with strong foundational skills.
- Travel: Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time to meet with customers, suppliers, and carriers.
